Gender-Affirming Care
Gender-affirming care is a range of medical services designed to support and affirm your gender identity.
Team-Based Gender-Affirming Care for Our Community
At University of Michigan Health, we know how important it is to have health care that respects and affirms your gender identity. Our dedicated team is here to support you through every step of your journey.
Gender-affirming care includes medical, surgical, mental health and other supportive services for transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming patients. Whole-person care helps align your body and characteristics with your gender identity.
The U-M Health Comprehensive Gender Services Program (CGSP) is a team of experienced specialists in dermatology, endocrinology, family medicine, OB/GYN, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, speech and language pathology, urology and social work. We understand the challenges you’ll face throughout the process and are here to guide you with the support and respect you deserve.
Begin your journey with us by contacting CGSP directly; you won’t need a referral. We use compassionate, personalized care to guide you through each step, from your first consultation to services including gender-affirming surgery. We provide a wide range of services such as hormone therapy, gender-affirming surgeries, voice therapy, and mental health support, aligned with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care.
Notice for Patients Under Age 19
