Plan Ahead for Traffic Disruptions

There are a number of road construction projects near the University of Michigan medical campus that will likely affect your travel time. Parking Options & Structures

We have many parking options for patients, families, and visitors. You can see where the structures below are located on our Medical Center Maps page. Please plan your arrival time to allow sufficient time for either self-parking or valet services.

Rogel Cancer Center Parking Structure (P1)

  • Located next to the cancer center building on West Medical Center Drive
  • For cancer patients and the family and friends who accompany them to appointments
  • Monday - Saturday: 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Closed Sunday.
  • Valet Service: Available for a $10 fee for patients and visitors Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Valet service is unavailable on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Paying for parking in the P1 parking structure:
    • When entering the garage, take a ticket and keep it with you.
    • Before returning to your car, pay for parking at the pay-on-foot stations located on Level 1 of the structure outside the elevator lobby area. Credit cards and cash are accepted at the pay stations.
    • When you reach the exit gate, use your paid ticket as an exit pass. If you forgot to pay at the pay station, use a credit card to pay at the exit gate.

University Hospital/Taubman Center Parking Structure (P2 and P3)

  • Located next to the front entrance of University Hospital and the Taubman Center on East Medical Center Drive
  • For patients, family, visitors only
  • Staffed by parking attendants
  • Open 24 hours, 7 days a week
  • Valet Service: Available for a fee for patients and visitors Monday through Friday 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Mott Children/Women's Parking Structure (P4)

  • Located across E. Hospital Drive from the Children's and Women's Hospitals main entrance and is connected to the hospital by a pedestrian bridge above the street
  • For patients, family, visitors but includes a section for staff parking
  • Staffed by parking attendants
  • Open 24 hours, 7 days a week
  • Valet Service: Open 24 hours, 7 days a week

Frankel Cardiovascular Center Parking Structure (P5)

  • Located directly below the Cardiovascular Center (CVC) on Ann Street at Observatory Street
  • For CVC patients and visitors
  • Open 24 hours, 7 days a week
  • Valet Service: Available for a fee for patients and visitors Monday through Friday 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Paying for parking in the P5 parking structure:
    • When entering the garage, take a ticket and keep it with you.
    • Before returning to your car, pay for parking at the pay-on-foot stations located within the parking structure elevator lobby at the main entrance level. Credit cards and cash are accepted at the pay stations.
    • When you reach the exit gate, use your paid ticket as an exit pass. If you forgot to pay at the pay station, use a credit card to pay at the exit gate.

Kellogg Eye Center Parking

  • Located next to the Kellogg Eye Center
  • Parking on the south side of the building offers space for drop-off and pick-up
  • Additional patient parking is available in the front rows of parking lot on the north side of the building
  • All patient parking at the Ann Arbor location is free of charge in the areas designated specifically for patients
  • Valet Service: Valet service is not available at this location
  • Open 24 hours, 7 days a week

Radiation Oncology Parking

All patients in the department of Radiation Oncology receive free parking in our lot. You will be given a hang tag at check-in to place in your car. This gives you access to the parking lot in front of the Radiation Oncology lobby. Remember to always hang your tag on your rear view mirror. Radiation Oncology is not responsible for parking tickets. The parking is monitored by the City of Ann Arbor.

School of Dentistry and University Health Service Parking

The Fletcher Street Parking structure, a cashier-attended parking location, is available for patients of the School of Dentistry and of the University Health Service (only), Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Accessible (Handicap-Designated) Parking

Accessible parking spaces are available at all parking structures. The current fees apply (see Patient/Family/Visitor Parking Rates belo). The only exception is for individuals with a "FREE PARKING" decal affixed to their State-issued handicap placard. Upon exit please ask parking attendant for "free" accessible parking options.

Oversized and Recreational Vehicle Parking

Oversized and recreational vehicle parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Daily parking must be purchased for $3 from Valet Services, 734-545-4435. Self-park Parking Rates

The following are the rates for unvalidated tickets:
 
Less than one hour: Free
1 – 8 hours: $3.00
8 or more hours, up to 24 hours: $20.00
 
For those who park 8 hours or less, there is no need to have your parking ticket validated; the parking rate is $3.00 regardless. 
 
For patients and visitors who park longer than 8 hours, your parking ticket may be validated for a $3.00 daily rate (free for infusion patients).

Ticket Validation Locations

For those who park longer than 8 hours, your parking ticket may be stamped/validated for the $3.00 discounted daily rate (free for infusion patients)*. Ticket validation is available at several locations:

    *To receive free parking, infusion patients must be validated at their point of service.
