Out of Network Surprise Bills

The No Surprises Act (NSA) establishes new federal protections against surprise medical bills effective January 2022. The law protects patients from receiving surprise medical bills resulting from gaps in coverage for services provided by out-of-network clinicians at in-network facilities.

View or download the Your Rights & Protections Against Surprise Medical Bills PDF to learn more about the No Surprises Act.

Paperless Billing

Beginning October 1, 2020, all MyUofMHealth patient portal users will automatically be enrolled in paperless billing.

Paperless billing is a secure way for patients to view and pay bills from any of our hospitals and health centers online. You can also track your health care expenses conveniently without the environmental waste, clutter and inconvenience of mailed statements.

If you have a registered MyUofMHealth account, you will no longer receive paper statements in the mail, unless you’ve already updated your account settings to continue receiving paper statements. If you would like to continue receiving paper statements after October 1, 2020, you must opt-out of paperless billing. Log into your MyUofMHealth account, select “Billing” from the menu, and select the message about cancelling paperless billing from the bottom of the “Account Summary” page.

Pay Your Bill Online
