    Research Overview

Dr. Weinberg’s laboratory studies interactions between host immune responses and adenoviruses, which are important causes of respiratory infections. Adenovirus infections can be particularly devastating in immunocompromised patients often resulting in rapidly disseminated infection and death. Dr. Weinberg’s research is funded by the National Institutes of Health and is focused on defining ways in which the immune system controls viral infection, hoping to identify novel ways to more effectively treat patients with disease caused by adenoviruses and other viruses.
