Non-Oncologic Disease Program
Radiation therapy can be beneficial for non-cancerous conditions including benign growths/tumors that do not metastasize, such as meningiomas, schwannomas, aterio-venous malformations as well as inflammatory muskuloskeletal conditions and fibrotic disorders.
Our Approach
We evaluate the patients’ needs and determine the dose of radiation and the number of sessions needed to offer best outcome or relief from their condition.
Low-dose radiation can help manage and relieve symptoms from inflammatory joint issues (osteoarthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis) offering a safe and effective option for patients who cannot tolerate medications or wish to delay or avoid surgery. It has an excellent safety profile and may even be administered a second time without acute or long-term side effects. The treatment is typically delivered in six sessions over two to three weeks.

What to Expect
Patients receiving low-dose radiation for inflammatory joint conditions often notice relief soon after completing treatment. Studies show that about two-thirds to three-quarters of patients experience significant pain reduction that can last six to twelve months or even longer. Patients receiving higher dose radiotherapy for other conditions may require a longer time period to see relief in symptoms.
