About
A native of Canton, Michigan, Dr. Denise Zao embarked on her medical career after graduating from Albion College. She continued her education at the University of Michigan, where she completed both medical school and her Internal Medicine residency.
Dr. Zao has dedicated her career to outpatient primary care. For a decade, she practiced at Michigan Medicine’s Livonia Health Center before its relocation to Northville Health Center in 2014. Her clinical interest spans chronic care management, complex health issues, and preventive health.
Committed to nurturing future medical professionals, Dr. Zao has been a faculty member at the University of Michigan Medical School since 2008, initially with the Family Centered Experience Program and transitioning to the Doctoring Program in 2016. She finds immense satisfaction in educating aspiring physicians.
In her personal time, Dr. Zao cherishes moments with her family of four, often through travel and culinary adventures. She also enjoys cheering on the Michigan Wolverines football team and unwinding by knitting, embroidery or peaceful walks through Ann Arbor's natural beauty.Areas of Practice

She provided no value added suggestions regarding wellness. I will be looking elsewhere for another primary care doctor."
