Biography: Suvarna Bhat, MD, MPH joined the University of Michigan faculty at Canton Health Center, as Clinical Instructor-Internal Medicine in July of 2011. Dr. Bhat completed her medical education in Mumbai, India and her Internal Medicine residency training at the King/Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

For the past ten years, she has been practicing as an attending physician with Visiting Physicians Association in Ann Arbor, MI. In that capacity she has served as the Medical Director at several assisted living and skilled nursing facilities in Livingston County. She brings her extensive experience in Geriatrics and home-care plus keen clinical interests in Preventive Medicine to the practice.

In addition, she possesses a Masters degree in Public Health, has won several awards including a listing in "Guide to America's top Physicians" by Consumers Research Council, and is a member of the Delta Omega Honor Society.

Dr. Bhat's practice philosophy is based on a patient centered team approach; and she is highly committed to providing individualized, compassionate, quality care to all her patients.
