Mafenide Topical Solution (MAFENIDE SOLUTION - TOPICAL)

Instructions

DO NOT take this medicine by mouth.

Powder packets must be mixed with the solution provided before use. Follow instructions carefully.

Soak dressing with medicine and place over wound. Keep dressing wet by applying more medicine as directed.

You may apply a bandage over the treated area if your doctor instructs you to do so.

Unmixed packets may be stored at room temperature.

Container with mixed medicine may be stored at room temperature up to 28 days if container is not opened. Once open, discard after 48 hours.

This medicine should only be used on the skin.

This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

Avoid getting the medicine in the eyes, nose, or mouth. Wash the medicine off your fingers after applying it.

Wash your hands after using this medicine unless your hands are part of the area being treated.

Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth after handling the medicine.

If medicine gets in your eyes, rinse well with cool water.

Drug interactions can change how medicines work or increase risk for side effects. Tell your health care providers about all medicines taken. Include prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal medicines. Speak with your doctor or pharmacist before starting or stopping any medicine.

Keep using this medicine for the full number of days that it is prescribed. Do not stop the medicine even if you start to feel better.

Throw away any unused medicine at the end of the treatment. Do not save for later use.

Keep all appointments for medical exams and tests while on this medicine.
