The University of Michigan Health Traumatic Brain Injury Program is a comprehensive program of cognitive, psychosocial and physical rehabilitation. Our core treatment team consists of physiatrists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech pathologists, social workers, neuropsychologists, vocational rehabilitation counselors, rehabilitation engineers and dieticians.
We provide intensive services that promote increased independence and accommodation to disability through education and retraining. University of Michigan Health has partnered with Chelsea Hospital to provide inpatient rehabilitation care in the most appropriate setting for TBI patients. After patients are discharged, we may refer them to an alternative treatment setting or recommend that they be followed by our own treatment team on an outpatient basis.
