Supporting and Connecting Patients
Our patients deserve the best. The Michigan Medicine Plastic Surgery team offers an expansive array of services, with more than a dozen specialty clinical programs, to around 30,000 patients a year, giving our team a high level of expertise. This degree of experience allows us to provide quality care for a wide range of conditions and treatments. Additionally, we are always working to provide compassionate and comfortable care for our patients during their time with us.
We are constantly working to innovate and improve the field of plastic surgery. Our team pursues advancements through research, so we can provide the best possible care for our patients. Many of our faculty are working on research projects ranging from burn reconstruction to prosthetics to health outcomes, such as tackling the opioid crisis or optimizing treatment plans for breast reconstruction patients. Multidisciplinary Approach to Patient Care
Our surgeons are leaders in the fields of adult and pediatric plastic surgery, offering reconstructive and cosmetic services with a multidisciplinary approach. We frequently work with the other experts at Michigan Medicine to provide you with a care plan that includes multiple perspectives to best assess your individual needs.
This multidisciplinary approach can be seen throughout our work. We partner with the Breast Care Center oncologists and other team members to ensure that our patients receive treatment plans with insight from specialists in different disciplines. We collaborate on tumor boards that consult together to create a comprehensive outlook on individual patient cases. Michigan Medicine reconstructive plastic surgeons work with breast care specialists to treat patients as well. Our multidisciplinary approach can also be found in the hand surgery program, which includes both plastic and orthopedic surgeons and shows that our surgeons’ skills cross over between different specialties.
