In the University of Michigan section of General Surgery, our surgeons, faculty and staff pursue excellence and leadership in patient care and service. This means that you - our patients and their families - come first, and that our teams are guided by our core principles: accountability for outcomes, respect for individuals, commitment to never-ending improvement, and responsibility for cost-effectiveness.
Each year, we perform thousands of surgical procedures that cover the full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care. Representing the major disciplines of General Surgery, our divisions include:
- (Critical Care, Trauma, Burn, and Non Trauma Emergency)
- Endocrine Surgery
- Pancreas, Liver and Gastrointestinal Surgery
- Minimally Invasive Surgery
- Surgical Oncology
- Surgery at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor
Referrals and consultation may be directed to the General Surgery office and clinics, to individual physicians, or to the division offices.
