Cystic Fibrosis Center Team
The Adult Cystic Fibrosis Clinic, located at the University of Michigan’s Cystic Fibrosis Center is accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and was created to support patients over 21 years of age to provide dedicated, comprehensive, and coordinated care by a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals that includes doctors, nurses and other health professionals, including dieticians, social workers and physical therapists.

The University of Michigan Interstitial Lung Disease Program leads the field in accurate diagnostic methods, active scientific research and extensive clinical trials.
Lung Disease and Respiratory Care (Pulmonary)
Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care physicians at the University of Michigan focus on pulmonary (lungs and breathing) disorders and critical illnesses (conditions such as shock, respiratory failure, and multiple organ failure). Our multidisciplinary teams treat the full scope of pulmonary issues including asthma, COPD and emphysema and cystic fibrosis.
Lung Transplant
The University of Michigan Transplant Center is the largest and most experienced lung transplant center in Michigan, and among the largest in the nation, with 20-40 lung transplants performed each year, and patient survival rate at one year at 90% – and we offer services that are not available widely, including Ambulatory ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) – an alternative to a ventilator that allows patients waiting for lung transplant to remain active and stay healthier, plus novel clinical trials available in few centers across the U.S.

Pulmonary Fibrosis
At the University of Michigan, the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine is a referral center, providing comprehensive care for people with pulmonary fibrosis. Our scientists and doctors are also using basic science to understand cells, molecules and pathways that lead to pulmonary fibrosis, in order to identify new therapies. Clinical trials evaluating these new therapies are in progress.

The University of Michigan Scleroderma Program is a multidisciplinary group of care givers, scientists and clinical researchers dedicated to advancing knowledge about scleroderma and related conditions.
