Combined FIT and stool DNA test (FIT-DNA)
The combined FIT and stool DNA test (FIT-DNA) test is a screening test to look for signs of colorectal cancer. This test is used to look for blood in the stool and genetic changes in DNA that could be a sign of cancer.
This test is done at home. You collect all of the stool from one bowel movement. You put it in a special box that comes in the test kit, and then you mail the box to the lab. There are no special diet restrictions or bowel prep required. But if signs of cancer are found, you will need to have a colonoscopy.
